We are all passionate about making our community and the world a better place for children so they can thrive. We are devoted to serving the children in our local community and also children all across the country and worldwide through unique and innovative service projects and fundraising initiatives.
What is Kiwanis?
The Kiwanis Club of Alameda proudly celebrates more than 100 years of service to the Alameda community. Founded in 1923, our club has a long tradition of strengthening the community through volunteerism, leadership, and compassion. Today, our primary focus is supporting the children and youth of Alameda.
Our members are hands-on volunteers who support students, teachers, families, and individuals in need. Alameda Kiwanis members are your friends and neighbors—people committed to giving their time, energy, and resources to make a positive local impact through service projects, fundraising efforts, and community partnerships.
The Kiwanis Club of Alameda is part of Kiwanis International, a global organization that has served children and communities since 1915. Kiwanis empowers communities to improve the world by making lasting differences in the lives of children, with the vision that every child grows up in a community that believes in them and helps them thrive.
Service is at the heart of Kiwanis. Worldwide, members lead thousands of service projects each year, raising millions of dollars to support communities and families. Our club fulfills this mission by serving children—one child in our community at a time—and by supporting Kiwanis-sponsored youth and service programs that provide leadership and service opportunities for people of all ages and abilities.
